A layby find, which became a bit of a theme in later years — laybys are good ground, though I didn't know that yet in 2010. Left boot, tan, worn through at the heel.
That heel note is the most detail any shoe got all year, so summat about it must have made me look twice. I couldn't tell you what now. Manchester Road carries a fair bit of traffic and I expect I'd pulled the car in, though the book doesn't say and I won't swear to it. No photograph. No conditions. It were November in Linthwaite, and that's all I can offer.
