The Register — 2014
16 entries, #56 to #71 · transcribed from the notebook
This were a settled year, looking back through the notebook. By 2014 I'd stopped thinking about whether to note the weather and just noted it, which is how it should be. Sixteen shoes, a decent spread, and I pushed out Holmfirth and Hade Edge way for a bit of variety, which paid off more than once. Blackmoorfoot gave me two, which it has a habit of doing. The pen held out all year, a black Bic, and the handwriting is steadier than 2013, happen because I'd stopped writing on me knee. Sandwiches start turning up in the notes around now. I don't know why I started recording them. It felt relevant. I'll say one thing here because it doesn't belong in the records: Barry says now that 2014 were the year of his first Heckmondwike sighting. I've no reason to doubt Barry saw a shoe. Whether it were the shoe is another matter, and it isn't going in the sequence on a recollection. Barry knows my position and we've stayed friendly about it.
