I have been transcribing the notebooks. There are eleven of them, counting the current one, and they have been in the sideboard a long while. Gary said the website could take the whole lot and so far he has been proved right. Every shoe since October 2009 is now on here, one page to a year.

The early entries are short. I did not know I was starting something at the time, so I wrote down what seemed enough, which turned out to be less than I would want now. I have transcribed them as they were written. It did not seem right to pad them out after the fact.

You will notice there are hardly any photographs from the early years. Most of them did not come out. You will have to take my word for it, which is what the notebook was for anyway.

Since finishing the transcribing I have gone back and written up a trip report for every entry an' all. I said I would get to them and I have got to them. The early ones are short, because you cannot write four hundred words about a shoe when the notebook gives you nine, and I will not pretend to remember things I do not remember.
