The Register — 2012

14 entries, #27 to #40  ·  transcribed from the notebook

This is the year the weather starts turning up in the notes. I don't remember deciding to put it in. It just seemed to belong there, and once it were in I never took it out. 2012 earned it, mind — the wettest summer I can remember before or since. Page after page of rain, noted plainly, no complaint. Our Linda remembers that year for the washing never drying. I remember it for the towpaths. Fourteen shoes, which felt like a lot at the time. Wessenden twice, which tells you where I were spending my Saturdays. The biro gave out around September and the last few entries are in pencil, which has held up better than you'd think. Left and right recorded throughout by now — that had settled in the year before and I've never missed one since. Transcribed as written.
