The riverside path below Honley, near the weir. Left shoe, child's, red, the buckle sort, and in good condition, which the notebook makes a point of. A shoe in good condition hasn't been out long, and that's as far as the observation goes.
Mild, with rain later — so I'll have got damp on the way back, though the notebook doesn't complain about it and I don't remember it either way. The photograph didn't come out. That's a shame with this one, because a red shoe against a riverside path would have made a decent picture, but there we are. Nine years later a child's boot at Hade Edge would stay with me in a way I'd struggle to explain. This one didn't, particularly. I record that difference without being able to account for it. Both are in the register, which is what matters.
