Deer Hill Conduit, Meltham — Left Boot, Tan

Deer Hill conduit path, above Meltham  ·  Shoe #64  ·  Conditions: hot, haze over the valley

Hot day, this one, with haze over the valley — the notebook is firm on that and I remember the heat besides. Left boot, tan, cracked across the toe, no laces, on the Deer Hill conduit path above Meltham. The conduit paths are good level walking and good shoe country an' all; the water people laid them flat and folk use them, and where folk go, shoes turn up.

Took two photographs and one came out, which by 2014 standards were a decent return. I'll have carried the flask, though what state the tea were in by Deer Hill I couldn't tell you. I weren't noting flask conditions till the year after.

Written up August 2026, from the notebook.
