The notebook says close and thundery, and that the rain came on before I got home, so I'll have got wet, though I've no memory of it. You don't remember the wettings, only the finds. Size eight or thereabouts is the sort of estimate I'd tighten up in later years — these days I'd commit to a size — but in 2014 'thereabouts' were doing a lot of work, and I'll let it stand. You don't go back and firm up a record. It says what it says.
